That’s how Kasper Mulvad Pedersen, operations manager and fifth generation at Holstebro Turistbusser / Højmark Turistfart, describes the journey from traditional bus operations to digital overview and electric buses.

When entering Holstebro Turistbusser, you immediately sense both the heritage and the ambition. Here, tradition and the future are closely intertwined – and for Kasper Mulvad Pedersen, it’s not about choosing one or the other, but about running a modern bus operation with deep roots.

"I'm the fifth generation in the company, so it means a lot to me to preserve that personal and responsible touch. But we've also grown, and that puts very different demands on control and day-to-day management,” he explains.
That’s why the collaboration with Adibus began in the summer of 2023. First with real-time solutions that provided better fleet visibility. Later followed a driver check-in solution with integrated breathalyzer and detailed daily task information.
“It’s made everything much easier. When a driver checks in, they’re fully guided – they’re told which bus to drive and what the day’s tasks involve. It saves us both misunderstandings and time,” Kasper says, and adds:
“And the drivers are actually very happy with the systems. They’ve gained a tool that gives them full overview – and that brings peace of mind.”

One of the things Kasper highlights most about the collaboration with Adibus is that the solutions feel tailor-made – without being over-engineered.
“We’ve used some of their standard solutions and also had specific tools developed just for us. For example, an app that is customized exactly to our needs. And that’s actually what I think Adibus does best: they understand our business and deliver what we need – without all the extras we’ll never use.”
He also makes it clear that user-friendliness is key:
“It has to be easy – for me as an operations manager and for the drivers. And it is. Everything is intuitive, and the service is top-notch.”

ChargePlan: The Key to a Smooth Transition to Electric
At the end of 2024, Holstebro Turistbusser took a major step toward green transition by investing in 11 electric buses. This is where ChargePlan entered the picture – Adibus' intelligent charging management platform.
“ChargePlan has really impressed me. I now have complete control over charging status, energy consumption, and costs. It’s amazing to be able to monitor it all in such detail. It gives me a sense of control that’s crucial in a day where so many things need to come together,” says Kasper.
He experienced the value firsthand one early morning:
“At 4 AM, I received an alarm from ChargePlan – the power had gone out, and the charging had stopped. If I hadn’t received that notification, we would’ve had six buses without power the next morning. That just shows how important it is to have the right system monitoring these things. It saved us that day.”
